Italian tenor, born in Rome in 1909, where he studied with Morini, a former pupil of Leon Escalais. He made his debut in 1934 but achieved recognition of his art quite late in his career when he in 1952, at the age of 43, was selected by Fonit Cetra to record their first complete Cavalleria Rusticana under Arturo Basile and co-starring Giulietta Simionato and Carlo Tagliabue.
Much of his career during the 1950s and 60s were spent in Trieste and Palermo, with guest performances at the festivals of Florence, Verona and the Caracalla, Rome. In the late 1950s he also frequently appeared on French stages: Lyon (1959), Bordeaux (1959) and Marseille (1957-1963). During the 1961-62 season he sang with the San Carlo of Naples.
He was a cherished Radames (Aida), Otello, Arnoldo (Wilhelm Tell), Canio (Pagliacci) and Raoul (Les Huguenots).
He passed away in Rome on 23 February 1983.
